Snow Angel Bursary
Gifting a Bermudian their first, life-changing day on snow.
Skiing or snowboarding is an incredible experience — one that not everyone gets the chance to try. That's where the BSSA comes in.
The Bermuda Ski & Snowboard Association has launched Snow Angel, a bursary set up to fund a fully-paid, life-changing ski or snowboarding experience for the successful applicant. This is more than just a trip; it's a chance to open the door to something never thought possible and to expand someone's world.
As a community, we understand the joy of skiing, the beauty of the slopes, and the thrill of that first run. Let's share that with someone who wouldn't otherwise have the means. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to making it happen. ❄️

What the bursary funds
Everything for that first trip — covered
Together, our generosity will cover:

Round-trip flights
There and back from Bermuda to the chosen destination.

Accommodation
A warm bed close to the mountains.

Airport transfers
Getting from the airport to the slopes and home again.

Ski hire
Boots, skis or a snowboard, and a helmet.

Group ski lessons
Learning the ropes alongside the club.

Food & drink
Meals on the trip, within reason.
This isn't just about funding a trip — it's about welcoming someone into our world of skiing and growing our community.
Who can apply
If you've always wanted to ski but never had the opportunity — and likely never will without this initiative — this could be your moment.
To be considered, you must:
- Be 21 or older.
- Be a Bermudian.
- Be eligible to travel (and able to pass the relevant visa process).
- Hold a valid passport for travel between Bermuda and the bursary's chosen destination for that year.
- Demonstrate financial need — applicants may be asked for a brief statement on their financial situation, or supporting documentation, to keep selection fair and transparent. This opportunity is for someone who otherwise wouldn't have the means to go.
- Be willing to share accommodation with fellow club members of the same gender, if required.
- Agree to feature on the Bermuda Snow social media pages.

The successful candidate will be announced at the Summer 2026 club social, and no later than 1 September 2026.

The fine print
- All decisions are made by the BSSA Board and are final.
- The BSSA Board has the right to revoke the bursary if the successful applicant is unable to meet the necessary requirements, or if any information provided is found to be false or misleading.
- The BSSA and the Bermuda Snow Society take no responsibility for unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to travel disruptions, visa denials, or personal emergencies preventing participation.
- The BSSA and the Bermuda Snow Society accept no liability for any accidents, injuries, or losses incurred during the trip.
- The Snow Angel bursary is not redeemable for cash. It is not transferable to another person, nor extendable to other person(s).
- The trip must be taken on the dates specified by the BSSA Board (dates TBC), with the Bermuda Snow Society.
- The successful applicant must commit to participating in the full itinerary, including any group lessons and social media posts.
- If the successful applicant is unable to meet travel requirements, an alternate applicant will be chosen by the BSSA Board.
- The successful applicant must be comfortable and willing to stay in a shared apartment with Society members.
