The Bermuda Ski & Snowboard Association (BSSA) is the charitable arm of Bermuda Snow. Where Bermuda's Snow Society brings our community together socially, the BSSA exists to open the slopes to more people — turning the love of snow into real opportunities for islanders to try winter sports for the first time.

Who we are

The BSSA was entered on the register of charities on 5 February 2026 as Registered Charity No. 1068. We are a small, volunteer-led charity rooted in Bermuda and powered by the same warm, inclusive spirit that runs through everything Bermuda Snow does.

Our purpose

Our charitable purpose is to advance participation in winter sports for the public benefit. We believe skiing and snowboarding shouldn't be reserved for those who already know how to start — or who can comfortably afford the gear, lessons and travel. By lowering those barriers, we want to make the magic of snow genuinely accessible to the Bermuda community.

In practice that means removing the “first step” barriers: the cost, the unfamiliarity and the not-knowing-where-to-begin that keep so many people off the mountain. We focus on the moments that change everything — a beginner's very first day on snow.

The Snow Angel Bursary

The charity's flagship programme is the Snow Angel Bursary. In our first year, the bursary is focused on introducing beginners to winter sports — helping people in our community get onto the snow for the very first time, with the support they need to fall in love with it.

It's where the BSSA's mission becomes tangible: real people, taking their first runs, often a very long way from a sunny island in the Atlantic.
